Line CEO Takeshi Idezawa will be coming to Tech in Asia Singapore 2016

If you love Line stickers, you’re going to love our latest news. Takeshi Idezawa, the Line Corporation CEO, is coming to Tech in Asia Singapore 2016!
Line is a worldwide sensation and its mascots Brown and Cony – the deadpan bear and its irrepressible rabbit counterpart – have turned a generation of texters into picture-loving expressionists.
In the four years since its launch, this tech giant has proven to be Japanese thought leader within the worldwide tech economy by transforming how people use messaging apps and turning the app into an all-inclusive messaging platform with a suite of functions to super-power your life.
Takeshi Idezawa, the CEO of Line, will join us on Tech in Asia Singapore 2016’s main stage in April. Idezawa will take us through a candid account of how Line played an instrumental role in shaping messaging apps in Asia, and what exciting challenges the future holds for both the company and the industry.
With Idezawa helming the corporation, Line’s monthly active user base has grown to 212 million – 65 percent of whom hails from its core markets Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and home ground Japan. It has retained its position as the world’s highest earning app publisher across iOS and Android for the third year running, based on a recent report published by App Annie. As a standalone app, the same report ranks it second only to Spotify based on combined iOS and Google Play revenue.
Line’s success on the charts owe to its exceptional job in monetizing in a way global competitors generally have not yet been able to do. Other than its main messaging function, the company smoothly introduced auxiliary services such as games, news, taxi hailing, and payments to build a diversified kingdom fueled by its popularity as a messaging app. Not forgetting the kawaii Line stickers – its second largest stream of revenue – that have taken on a life of their own to set Line apart from the competition.
The company’s rapid growth now creates new challenges. How will it keep up its momentum? How will it find affinity with global users? What new services can it launch? And what about those on-again, off-again IPO rumors?
In his fireside chat session, the Line CEO will explain how he steers the Japanese messaging platform and his subsequent plans for conquering markets outside of Asia. In addition, attendees can expect to pick up astute insights into the mobile landscape and trends and predictions on the future of messaging apps. All that from one of the industry’s key figures in this must-catch session at Tech in Asia Singapore 2016.
It’s a rare appearance – don’t miss it.
We’re holding a flash extension for the 20 percent promotion (code: tiasg20) until February 1, so you can still take advantage of the discount when you get your passes to catch Line’s CEO on the main stage and more at Tech in Asia Singapore 2016 this coming April 12-13.
