Global multistage VC fund Lightspeed Venture Partners has onboarded Kevin Aluwi and Vivek Gambhir as part of its senior teams in Southeast Asia and India, respectively.
Aluwi is the co-founder of Gojek and has been with the Indonesian company for over eight years. Before this, he headed the business intelligence unit at Zalora Indonesia for over two years.
Gambhir, on the other hand, has donned the hats of a CEO, mentor, board member, and advisor with over 30 years of work experience. He is currently on the board of Mamaearth parent firm Honasa Consumer and the consumer electronics brand Boat.
In their roles as venture partners, Aluwi and Gambhir “will be collaborating with founders […] and contributing to the growth and development of our portfolio companies in the region,” said Bejul Somaia, partner at Lightspeed.
A sector-agnostic firm, Lightspeed counts Oyo, Udaan, Sharechat, Darwinbox, Razorpay, Aspire, and Youtrip, among its portfolio companies. It has invested in over 100 companies so far in India and Southeast Asia.
The global team currently manages US$25 billion in assets under management across the US, Europe, India, Israel, and Southeast Asia.
