LG (066570:KS) has just announced that it will be introducing a Google TV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas which kicks off next week. The television will feature an Android-based user interface, as well as LG’s Magic Remote Qwerty (a remote with a qwerty keyboard).
The television will also have 3D functionality, although personally I find the Smart TV functions more attractive (sorry, I really hope 3D dies this year!). LG’s promo picture of its new television shows an assortment of web-related functions, something which I usually find far more exciting than any 3D offerings I’ve seen to date.
LG will join Samsung (whose own Smart TV we wrote about before), Sony, and Vizio as Google’s other hardware partners which will be participating in CES. The search giant has a Google TV CES 2012 video now on YouTube (thanks Engadget!) which outlines the many functions available.
