As Lazada’s Indonesia head, Li will lead the strategic development and growth of the Alibaba-owned company in the country. He said he plans to focus on leveraging Lazada’s foothold in the ecommerce space, its data-driven solutions, technology, and logistics network.
Prior to joining Lazada, Li was chief technology officer at Alibaba’s business-to-business unit. He also held executive positions at US ecommerce company eBay and online payments system PayPal.
Recently, Lazada appointed James Dong, CEO of Lazada Thailand, as the head executive of its Vietnam unit. The move was part of Lazada’s plan to accelerate its growth in the country and enable more cross-country collaborations, the company said.
