Tesla co-founder Elon Musk warned that the electric carmaker may cut 10% of its workforce as he has a “super bad feeling” about the economy, Reuters reported.
Musk made the statement in an email to executives titled “pause all hiring worldwide.”
Musk had recently sent another email to employees urging them to come back to the office, failing which the company would assume that they had resigned. “Everyone at Tesla is required to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week,” he had written.
Musk had in April sold Tesla shares worth nearly US$4 billion in two days after agreeing to buy Twitter for US$44 billion.
