JiffStore plans to bring more mom and pop grocery stores online with their latest funding

JiffStore, a Bangalore-based hyperlocal ecommerce business that enables online order and delivery of groceries from stores in the user’s vicinity, has secured its second round of funding from Unitus Seed fund today.
JiffStore has been a part of Unitus Seed Fund’s portfolio since May 2014 when it raised its first round of seed funding of US$ 200,000.
With a steady rise in the number of m-commerce startups in India, JiffStore is among the first hyperlocal grocery delivery startups. India has over 15 million mom and pop grocery stores and JiffStore plans to connect them to the online community. The Indian online grocery business is said to cross US$ 25 billion by 2020. This could mean JiffStore has a promising future in terms of creating an even more lucrative platform for hyperlocal grocery delivery in the long term.
With the latest funding, JiffStore plans to promote its services across various marketing channels, expand its team, and improve its technology platform. It is currently active in over 120 locations in Bangalore, clocking over 200 transactions daily and 6,000 transactions monthly. JiffStore plans to expand their services across the tier one cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. Shameel Abdullah, co-founder and CEO at JiffStore believes that their service eliminates the mundane and dull grocery shopping chore and turns it into a delightful and convenient experience.
In the last two days, JiffStore is the second company Unitus Seed Fund has invested in, iSTAR being the first.
