In celebration of the 11th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI, the first year of Dragon Quest X, and the successful launch of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix is having itself a massive collaboration between the three games.
The first of the collaborations began roughly a month ago in the FFXI world and featured Slimes, new quests, and a boatload of new items to obtain. This event will unfortunately end today as we transition into the crossover event that takes place in the Dragon Quest X world.
As you may or may not know, Dragon Quest X is a Japan exclusive, so if you are reading from outside the land of the rising sun, you are going to be missing out on one sweet event. This next collab is a DQX and FFXI crossover and will run from January 15, 2014 through February 12.
In this event, DQX players will get to meet up with FFXI’s Shanttoto and learn of a magical experiment that went haywire. Players will have to set things right in the world by completing all of the event’s quests, but first you will need to help her Chocobo. It apparently isn’t very happy.
Later in February, 3 days after the FFXI collab finishes up, DQX fans will see the next event in the series which features a collaboration with FFXIV. In this collab you will find a Moogle named Kopo who has found himself overwhelmed by the different flowers throughout the world of Eorzea. He asks you to go around and collect one of each this world’s flowers. May seem like a daunting task, but I’m sure the reward will be worthwhile.
Fans of the series are surely not going to want to miss these events, but unfortunately they are only in the Japanese Dragon Quest X. But don’t be disheartened, there are international events planned for later this month too. We will keep you updated when we get more information.
