From Singapore, Silicon Valley, and then to China [PREVIEW]

dextrysJames Tong, the founder of Dextrys, has experience in both of the world’s largest markets, China and U.S. He was born and bred in Singapore, but has spent ten years in the U.S where he created and managed several successful businesses before moving to China.

It turns out, China is the country where his greatest reward awaited him. His company Suzsoft, which subsequently rebranded to Dextrys, is one of the largest IT outsourcing firms in China with over 3,200 employees. I briefly met up with him at a discussion panel session and was intrigued to meet him again later to find out more about his experiences.

Like a curious kid, I asked all sorts of questions relating to his past experiences, particularly his time in China and his experience working with the Chinese government. Unfortunately, even as our meeting ended, I still had many questions I still wanted to ask.

So this time around, instead of having our next meet-up at just any old cafe, I thought it would be fun to have him on stage at Startups in Asia Singapore. This way, everyone can benefit from his experiences.

Besides Dextrys, James is also a venture partner at Gobi Partners, a SGD$100 million fund focusing on tech startups in Singapore and China.

James’ coffee chat will be held on February 3, from 11:30 – 12:00 noon at Startups in Asia Singapore.
