International Monster hunters, continue rejoicing for we shall all be united in Monster Hunter Frontier G!

Well this is a turn out for the books: two big juicy pieces of Monster Hunter news in one week. Capcom, you’re spoiling us!

Monster Hunter Frontier G is an MMORPG based in the Monster Hunter universe, and is currently exclusive to Japan. The biggest draw of Monster Hunter Frontier G is its wide compatibility with nearly all consoles: Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and PC. There are also plans to release Monster Hunter Frontier G for the PS Vita.

However according to Silconera, Monster Hunter Frontier G will also be getting a western release. Their source for this is an interview with Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono, in which he states the reasons for releasing the game on so many devices was to open the game up to regions outside Japan. He added that consoles are more prevalent in Western countries, suggesting that this may be the area chosen for expansion.

That’s great news for us, but I wouldn’t get too excited too quickly because the Monster Hunter team isn’t known for its speedy localization. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate won’t be getting its Western release until 2015 so I’m guessing Monster Hunter G will take longer still.
