Did Instagram launch a book in Japan? There is a possibility. The book, which cost US$12 at Amazon, is designed with a familiar Instagram look-and-feel.

According to Asiajin, the title of the book reads “An Introduction to Instagram in 140 Characters. Could this book be Instagram’s strategy to capture the Japanese market? We have sent an email to Instagram to confirm on this.

Knowing that Twitter is popular in Japan, there is a fair chance that Instragram would enjoy equal success as well. After all, Japanese mobile users were the most connected compared to U.S and Europe and 17 percent of them used social networking services through their phones. Instragram can easily fit into Japan’s mobile culture.

Antoine Tokar, a Japanese blogger has aptly described the photo sharing app: “I just started using Instagram…A fun, simple and social way to share photos…In other words, it’s Visual Twitter and just like Twitter, it’s incredibly engaging!”
