Inmobi Partners with NDTV to Provide In-App Ads

ndtv-inmobi

Our readers may remember the recent news about mobile ad network InMobi’s acquisition of U.S. based Sprout for improved HTML5 ad offerings.

Now InMobi has tied up with Indian Media house New Delhi Television (NDTV) for powering its Android and iOS mobile apps with in-app advertisements. The move will be beneficial for existing InMobi publishers as NDTV applications have witnessed more than 400,000 downloads.

NDTV’s apps are on a variety of platforms: Android, iOS (pictured below), Symbian and Blackberry. The list consists of a news app, a cricket news app, and a video app which can be accessed here. NDTV has still not announced whether it would be ending its collaboration with Affle, its current ad partner. However, if we get any such news then we will be sure to post an update.

Inmobi has been busy this month integrating Sprout’s HTML5 technology into its ad network operations. I wonder whether ads on NDTV apps will take advantage of this platform, since the acquisition happened only a short while ago.

News from India’s mobile ad market has been frequent of late, and why wouldn’t it be? India has the largest mobile ad-market in Asia-Pacific and is said to be growing by 27 percent. Recently we reported about mobile ad network Zestadz being acquired by Komli Media, another big shake-up in the Indian ad space.
