InMobi Is Setting Up an Office in China, Hiring

InMobi-logoAt a conference last week in China, I stumbled upon a good friend from InMobi.

My first thought was, “Why is he here in China?” And then we chatted.

Seriously, what else could it be for? I learned from him that InMobi is setting up an office in China and is hiring pretty rapidly. Wow.

Coincidentally, one of my friends actually got hired just recently. I waited for about a week to ensure InMobi is okay with me writing about this piece of good news. Because, as it seems, there’s a lot of stuff that the company is still keeping mum with regards to its fledgling China operations.

After its recent $200 million investment, tech watchers in Asia should have already anticipated InMobi’s expansion to China. Interestingly, some of the mobile ad network in China (aka InMobi’s competitors) also seem to have heard about InMobi’s expansion to the middle kingdom.

China has proven to be a harsh environment for foreign companies. So it remains to be seen if India-based InMobi can keep up its momentum in China. Best of luck.
