Inex Innovate, a Singapore-based molecular diagnostics firm, has acquired Yourgene Health Taiwan from its UK-based parent company for roughly US$4 million.
The deal is projected to contribute between US$3.5 million and US$4 million in added revenue to Inex in 2023.
With the acquisition, Inex Innovate – which specializes in women’s and fetal health – will see increased capabilities in biobanking, bioinformatics, fetal health and oncology R&D, as well as clinical lab services for gynecological and reproductive health cancers.
It will also have access Yourgene Health Taiwan’s 10,000 square-foot sequencing lab, along with its team of 25 people. Yourgene also has a presence in Hong Kong and Japan.
The deal is still subject to review and approval by Taiwan’s Investment Commission, which may take eight to 12 weeks to complete.
Founded in 2006, Inex Innovate conducts research to solve problems in women’s health and is backed by Enterprise Singapore, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Genting Berhad, among others.
In 2019, the company merged with fellow Singapore-based biotech firm Nova Satra in a US$72 million deal.
