In brief: Huawei to discuss possibility of using Russia’s Avrova OS
- Huawei is set to start discussions with Russia’s communications ministry officials on the possibility of using its Avrova operating system, Reuters reported, citing Russia’s RIA news agency.
- According to a separate report, the Chinese company has shipped 100 million smartphones so far this year as of May 30.
- Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei said that the US ban could cost the company US$30 billion in revenue this year, and that smartphone sales outside China already dropped 40% in the past month.
