Indosat, Nvidia launch AI infrastructure venture
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, an Indonesian telecommunications and digital infrastructure company, said on August 6 that it launched Zankore by Indosat with Ooredoo Group, Nokia, and Nvidia.
The venture aims to build AI infrastructure for global customers, starting in the Asia-Pacific region.
The company said Zankore targets about 200 megawatts of AI capacity in the first half of 2027 and 1 gigawatt of Nvidia DSX AI Factory capacity over time.
Indosat described Zankore as a separately governed platform with its own CEO and board drawn from principal shareholders and independent leadership.
Under the partnership, Nvidia will provide DSX architecture, AI software, and access to next-generation graphics processing units.
Nokia will supply AI-native networking, and Ooredoo Group will act as lead investor and platform sponsor.
Ooredoo Group’s role also reflects existing governance ties, as it is Indosat’s controlling shareholder through Ooredoo Hutchison Asia.
The planned buildout would be large relative to Indonesia’s broader market, where data center information technology load capacity is estimated at 1.44 GW in 2025.
The rollout also aligns with Indonesian policy requiring private electronic system operators to register locally, while some sectors, including financial services, must keep key data within the country.
