Our friends from BuySellAds have recently shared an infographic on the future of advertising technology, focusing on: (1) Augmented reality, (2) Facial Recognition and (3) Location-based mobile.
While BSA showed examples from the West, there are also several examples in my mind that are from Asia. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great infographic but I thought it would be good to share some examples from Asia as well.
However, just for a heads up, one of the examples isn’t used for marketing purposes. It’s used to monitor employees productivity instead. It is still a good-to-know, though. Enjoy both examples from East and the West.
Augmented reality: Taiwan-based, Ya De Li Technology developed an Augmented Reality Fitting Room for Citizen Watches. It’s pretty cool. The AR campaign was launched during the Chinese New Year festival, supported by GQ Magazine.
Facial recognition: In the past, the use of face recognition security devices was limited to accessing secure jails or military arsenals. But now private companies in China are also making use of this technology, to keep tabs on their workers. Beijing Sunrise Technology is one of the companies using the technology.
Location-based mobile: Singapore-based Chalkboard is a local ad-network that helps merchandisers create location-based ads and improve walk-in traffic to stores.
Now, the brilliant infographic:
