5 Indonesian tech ventures that are just getting started – October 2016

With high-valuation startups like Go-Jek and Traveloka stealing most of the headlines lately, what about the next generation of tech and business innovators who are just getting started?

Here’s a look at five tech ventures who’ve cleared the first hurdle.

They’ve completed an incubation program – in this case Indigo, the startup incubator run by Indonesia’s largest telco, Telkom. All five startups are from the incubator’s first batch in 2016.

They have since managed to secure follow-on funding from angels and VCs – though program manager Nicko Widjaja didn’t reveal how much and from whom.

Minutes Barber

Minutes Barber is a mobile app that allows you to instantly book a barbershop appointment around Jakarta. It has expanded to include spas and salons.

Trax Center

Trax Center is an unusual idea for the security-conscious. It links a GPS device with a mobile app to create a security system for your vehicle. The app allows you to get full information about your vehicle’s status and even to remotely turn the engine on and off.

Kartoo

Kartoo is a mobile app that uses your debit or credit card information to let you know about relevant deals around you.

Sonar

Zelos
