Katapedia: An Upcoming Digital Media Monitoring Tool in Indonesia
BursaIde.com, the first Indonesian crowdfunding site which turns great idea into reality, just announced its first IT-based project, Katapedia.com.
Katapedia is a 360º real-time online media monitoring tool for companies and brands. Using this software, companies and organizations can track and monitor any conversation across digital and traditional media all in one platform. As social media is booming hot in the country right now, a digital analytics that tracks local market and language would be very much appreciated by businesses.
There are two main features in Katapedia.com: (1) Media Monitoring and (2) Real Time Analysis. Media Monitoring is performed by filtering predefined keywords from various digital channels, including national newspapers, national magazines, web portals and social media. For Real Time Analysis, Katapedia.com divides it into four kinds of sub-analysis:
- Mention Analysis
- Media Share Analysis
- Social Media Analysis
- Sentiment Analysis
Mention Analysis can be used to count how many times a brand was mentioned on online news media as compared to competitors, while Media Share Analysis can be used to find the sources of media which mentioned the brand. Online brand conversations can be tracked by its Social Media Analysis. Finally, to discover a brand’s reputation and netizens’ sentiment level in online news and social media, Sentiment Analysis would be helpful. All of them are presented in visual graphs and data running real-time.
Katapedia’s Sentiment Analysis is especially interesting as it is powered by artificial neural network and Naive Bayes methodologies. Katapedia.com claims that its Sentiment Analysis is about 75% accurate and the team is still improving it.
The idea for Katapedia.com was first published on BursaIde.com at the beginning of 2011 by Deddy Rahman. Now, it became a reality after getting funding through Bursaide.com.
“Katapedia.com is our second portfolio since BursaIde.com was launched. It is also our first portfolio for IT based industry”, said Muhaimin Iqbal, the founder of BursaIde.com.
Currently, there are 75 ideas that have been published in BursaIde.com. Two of them have been implemented so far which created 201 jobs. This is in accordance with BursaIde.com’s mission to embrace any ideas by Indonesians who have both business and social values.
