Indonesian AI character generator nets $5m seed

Bythen, an Indonesian AI platform focused on creating digital characters, has secured US$5 million in seed funding.

The funding round was led by Japan’s Vector Inc. and Skystar Capital, with contributions from East Ventures, Beenext, Osk, AppWorks, and angel investors such as Tokopedia’s co-founder William Tanuwijaya and Pinkfong Company’s co-founder Ryan Lee.

The company plans to use the funding for a global launch aiming to onboard 15,000 virtual influencers in the Web3 and gaming sectors.

Established in 2024, Bythen allows users to create personalized digital characters called “Bytes.”
