Prior to being named as CoHive’s new chief exec, Angkasa founded Clapham Collective, a shared workspace provider in Medan. Since Clapham merged with CoHive in 2017, when the latter was still known as EV Hive, Angkasa has been sitting on the company’s board of advisors.

“This is an unprecedented time for co-working spaces,” shared Angkasa. “This forces us to think through how we should adapt to the changing landscape of the business we are in. Like our members, we need to adapt to this period.”

CoHive was incubated by East Ventures in 2015. It has since expanded to 30 locations across Jakarta, Tangerang, Medan, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. The company claims to have over 10,000 members consisting of enterprise companies, small and medium enterprises, and startups at all stages of growth.

It announced its rebranding in June last year after raising US$13.5 million in funding from the first close of its series B round.

At the time, the company also introduced a suite of new products, namely CoWorking, CoLiving, CoRetail, and CoHive Event Space. It also launched the CoHive 101 building last year to serve as its headquarters in Jakarta.
