Tencent-backed esports major VSPN nets series B2 funding from Morgan Stanley
Chinese gaming and esports firm Versus Programming Network (VSPN) said it has secured an undisclosed amount of funding to help its overseas expansion efforts.

- VSPN plans to use the funds to bankroll its global expansion plans, which include producing esports tournaments overseas and developing. infrastructure for a global esports ecosystem.
- The Tencent-backed company also plans to set aside resources to further build out its esports content platform VSPN+.
- The round comes after it secured US$60 million in series B+ funding earlier this year and US$100 million in series B money in October last year.
- VSPN said that since its start in 2016, the company has captured a 70% market share of esports events in China, offering services such as tournament production and online gaming content.
