In brief: India’s Swiggy acquires AI startup
India-based online food ordering and delivery service Swiggy, a rival of Foodpanda, has acquired Kint.io, a local startup specializing in applying deep learning and computer vision for object recognition in videos. The value of the deal was not disclosed. Kint will augment the work Swiggy has been doing in AI, machine learning, and big data. This is Swiggy’s third acquisition – after on-demand delivery startup Scootsy in 2018 and gourmet food startup 48East in 2017.
