How to make an impression at Night Crawl

So you’ve purchased our Tech in Asia Singapore 2015 conference passes and have made plans to attend our post-conference networking party. Now that you know where you need to be at Night Crawl, let us reveal a few tips on how you can make an impression at our post-conference party and turn it into a networking goldmine.

Know who you want to meet, and who they want to meet

Didn’t have the opportunity to set a meeting with an investor you were dying to get some face time with at the conference? Night Crawl’s your chance – and score points if you know what they are looking out for. We’ve helped you do some homework and reached out to our Night Crawl sponsors to find out who they are interested to meet at our networking party.

Elance-Odesk: venture-backed startups with at least 10 employees.

muru-D: digital talents who can assist in building the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Southeast Asia; startups who are ready for a 6-month accelerated programme in Singapore; as well as potential partners, mentors, and investors.

Sequoia: fast-growing startups as well as individuals, such as growth hackers and developers, who are keen to work in Sequoia’s portfolio startups.

If you think you fit the bill, be sure to catch both Elance and muru-D at Beer Market, or Sequoia at Shuffle Bar on the evening of May 7.

On the other hand, Braintree_Paypal is being somewhat secretive about who they want to meet, so come on down to Wings Bar on May 7 and have a chat with them!

Start a conversation

Break the ice by striking up a casual conversation. It makes for a smoother introduction and may even lead from one topic to another, compared to a formal one, which are better suited for offices than bars.

Tip: Food is a great conversation starter. A good place to meet people is at the bar or food counter, where everyone will naturally gravitate to!

Know your limits

Indulging yourself in a few drinks at a post-conference party is fine, but chugging alcohol by the bottle could bring down your credibility a few notches. You want to impress others the right way, but not with your alcohol tolerance.

Send follow-up emails

As with dating, follow-up with your networking contacts after Night Crawl. As simple as it sounds, this is an opportunity for you to stand out, and might even land you with a second date!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to make an impression at our post-conference networking party, we’re looking forward to see you at Night Crawl! Do note that this segment is only open to conference attendees.

Don’t forget to also download our official Night Crawl app, NOX (available on both iPhone and Android), the first nightlife mobile app in Singapore that focuses on building unique nightlife experiences for its users. Check back on the app for exclusive promotions, and conference attendees can scan the NOX QR code at our Night Crawl venues to redeem free food and drinks. Only while stocks last!

If you haven’t already purchased your conference passes, there’s still time to do so – get them here now.
