Hyrule Warriors is as cool as you’ve been expecting

Hyrule Warriors, Tecmo Koei’s Warriors franchise and Legend of Zelda mash-up, hits the Wii U this month. When we first saw it over Nintendo Direct last year, the game looked impossibly fun. And having tried the English demo at Tokyo Game Show, I’m pleased to corroborate the fact: Hyrule Warriors is going to be a blast.

As proof, here’s a video of the floor demo at Tokyo Game Show 2014. I had fun with Link and his Power Gloves.

While I didn’t have enough time with the build to check out all features, we do know that you get a choice of weapons with characters, and that the game has character imbalances still. Cia, the primary antagonist of Hyrule Warriors, was a hot favorite with fans queuing up to try the demo, and it was easy to see why. Her spells laid waste to the hordes of enemy minions before they could even attack.

Will you be getting Hyrule Warriors? Or maybe you’ll be getting a Wii U because of it?
