HyperX Dota 2 League Season 4 Eastern Division: LGD.cn secures a spot at the Las Vegas live finals

It has been a month since the HyperX Dota 2 League (D2L) kicked off. From among the eight teams of the Eastern Division, one team had made it to the top spot unscathed. With a 7-0 record, Chinese team LGD.cn finished first in the group stages, successfully securing the first of two spots for the Eastern Division heading to the D2L Live Finals.

In its fourth season, this is the first time that the HyperX D2L had Eastern teams participate in the league. The group stages have an Eastern and Western division. The top two teams of each group will fly to Las Vegas for the Live Finals at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas in January 2014. While the Western division has yet to conclude, based on the current standings, Sweden’s Team Alliance will secure the top spot. The remaining teams seeded second to fifth for each division will be play in a bubble format to compete for a chance at the Live Finals.

As I mentioned in a previous article, Chinese teams currently have too many Dota 2 tournaments to play in. In fact, D2L clashes with major Chinese tournaments G-League 2014 and the Esports Championship League (ECL) 2014. The Association of Chinese Esports (ACE) has allowed the teams to choose which tournaments they want to attend.
