Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind video reveals high-speed gameplay and character customization
The first season of the anime Shingeki No Kyojin (Attack on Titan) ended recently, and while we’re not in any position to talk about the possible coming of a second season or lack thereof, we can give you this video of some Shingeki no Kyojin: Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa (Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind) gameplay. It was streamed during the Nintendo Direct Presentation, which included an announcement about the release of Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind.
One of the things that the Attack on Titan world is known for is the use of the 3D Maneuver Gear (3DMG), which allows human beings to move in three dimensions as opposed to the typical two. Judging from the video, Spike Chunsoft’s Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind has emulated the high-speed movement from the animated series. In-game, the players can rely on the 3DMG to move around obstacles such as houses, buildings, and the titans themselves. The game even has that dramatic pause as your character struggles right before it gets eaten by the titan. Of course, in Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind, if you are caught and eaten by a titan, the game is over unless you are saved by a teammate.
The video also gives us a preview of character customization. This original character can be used during cooperative game modes that support up to four players. Aside from your character, of course, you can play as the protagonist Eren Yeager, and his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert.
Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on December 5 for JPY 6,090 ($62). More information may be found on Spike Chunsoft’s Attack on Titan game page.
