Started about a year ago by founder Goh Yiping, daily deals aggregator site AllDealsAsia.com has received a round of investment from Iconic Ventures (no link yet because its website isn’t ready), a venture capital fund set up by the founders of JobsCentral Group.
Not too long ago, JobsCentral itself was acquired by US-based CareerBuilder, in which the acquisition sum was believed to be one of the highest ever received by a web-based business in Singapore.
When we spoke to the four founders at the time, one of them, Eric Koh, CTO of the jobs portal, revealed his desire to set up a venture capital fund to invest in promising start-ups in Singapore. He told us back then after the acquisition:
[…] I am planning to invest in stocks and bonds, and also set aside a portion for angel investing in local tech start-ups.
It’s nice to know that Eric’s words were put into action. And of course, for start-ups in Singapore, this is a good example of how someone from the tech ecosystem is contributing and nourishing the community.

We have sent both AllDealsAsia.com and Iconic Ventures further questions but have yet to receive a reply. We will update as we learn more.
