Heroes of the Storm: first trailer, first gameplay footage, more info, and beta signups inside!

If you’re interested in MOBA games, you probably know that the original DOTA was a mod of Blizzard’s Warcraft 3, but since then, Blizzard has been conspicuously absent on the MOBA scene. The company is hoping that changes with Heroes of the Storm (formerly known as Blizzard All-Stars), Blizzard’s upcoming entry into the MOBA genre. At Blizzcon, Blizzard has shared several new bits media on the game, including its cinematic trailer:

In addition to videos, Blizzard has also kicked off signups for the game’s beta, which you can access via Battle.net. The company has also released more details about the game, the highlight of which is probably the varied and interactive battlegrounds that the game will offer. (On one map, for example, players can collect gold to pay ghostly NPC pirates to decimate their opponents base). Blizzard has also said that heroes and other content will be unlockable just by playing the game and that there will also be cosmetic upgrades and items for sale, but details on the game’s monetization scheme are still thin.

The game does not have an official release date yet.
