Haymarket HQ, an Australia-based accelerator, has launched two initiatives to aid local tech firms and investors in exploring growth opportunities in Southeast Asia.

The Southeast Asia Tech Immersion Mission and the Australia Vietnam Growth (AVG) program will provide market entry support for Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore. The first initiative aims to explore business prospects in the three countries, helping connect participating firms with investors, companies, and government agencies.

Meanwhile, the AVG program will select 10 Australian tech firms and industry bodies and involve them in activities covering their potential expansions into the Vietnamese market.

“Our program provides curated master classes, targeted introductions to potential partners in Vietnam and a trade mission to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi,” Duco van Breemen, CEO of Haymarket HQ. The exec shared that Vietnam is one of Australia’s fastest-growing trade partners, with interaction between the two countries growing by 40% in 2022.

The firm’s Southeast Asia initiatives are backed by private investment group Arkblu Capital, which operates in both Sydney and Jakarta. As part of the programs, Arkblu Capital will give participants access to its network in the region.

“(SEA) is home to the world’s fastest-growing middle class, globally significant family offices and VCs, tech unicorns, and a large pool of tech talent that is already powering some of Australia’s tech companies today,” said van Breeman in a statement.
