US-based security platform HackerOne announced a partnership with Singapore’s Government Technology Agency (GovTech) and Cyber Security Agency for a bug bounty program to test public-facing government systems.

The initiative will invite roughly 200 international and 100 local ethical hackers, or those who penetrate computer systems to evaluate their security, to test GovTech’s systems. The hackers will receive a monetary reward for valid security weakness reports.
The bug bounty challenge is scheduled to run from July to August and will cover nine internet-facing digital government services and information and communication technology systems. Bounties for the program will range from US$250 to US$10,000 per vulnerability, depending on severity. The results will be announced in September.
This is the startup’s third bug bounty initiative with the Singapore government, following its previous programs with GovTech and the Singapore Ministry of Defense.
Earlier this year, HackerOne opened its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, marking the start of its expansion into the region. The Singapore office focuses on government technology as well as enterprise customers.
