Grab opens its regional center of excellence in Malaysia
Grab has launched its regional center of excellence in Malaysia โ the second showing of its โstrongโ investment back home. The first one is the opening of its research and development facility in Kuala Lumpur last month.
Grab Malaysiaโs country head, Sean Goh, explained that the investment back into the country is part of Grabโs response to Malaysiaโs call for public-private partnerships to drive the countryโs Industry 4.0 blueprint and digital economy ambitions.
The regional center of excellence will spearhead the development of an in-house pool of highly skilled professionals. Together with the R&D center, it targets to create 400 new โhigh-valueโ jobs, bringing its total Malaysia-based employees to 1,000. โThey will be given the opportunity to take a regional lens in offering solutions and implementing projects,โ Grab said in a statement.
The newly expanded 54,000 sq ft office space will house the companyโs โcore business strategy and operational functions,โ which includes legal, customer experience, financial services, and creative services.
