GPL Summer week one day one results round-up

The Garena Premier League (GPL) started with a bang today as top teams from Southeast Asia and the Taiwan regions battle for circuit points to qualify for the Season 4 World Championship, which the winner of this tournament can also directly qualify for.

Saigon Jokers (SAJ) versus Imperium Pro Team (IPT)

Match

As SAJ sent 4 men to top lane, IPT Hero’s Karthus was denied experience. While sitting at level one, he gave up first blood to a flash-stun from SAJ Safety’s Pantheon with a follow up by SAJ Vigoss’s Morgana’s binding.

SAJ abused Safety’s global ultimate to initiate 4-men dives on IPT and built a lead. Superior rotations from SAJ then allowed them to take out all the outer turrets of IPT.

A Teleport from SAJ GoNy’s Jax and Safety’s ultimate caught out the entire IPT team, allowing them to get a 5-for-nothing exchange. SAJ went for Baron before closing off the game.

ahq Fighter (ahq F) versus Taipei Assassins (TPA)

Match

The game was pretty even until TPA gathered at mid lane to force a push. Ahq F reacted with CCB’s Shyvana flanking TPA. Although the skirmish ended with zero casualties, it lowered ahq F’s ability to continue fighting, allowing TPA to take home the first Baron of the game.

The game stayed relatively quiet until the spawn of the third Baron. TPA’s Bebe and Winds caught out Y5era, and forced a Baron fight. ahq F’s RD was the casualty in the fight as TPA finished off the Baron and the game.
