Go-Viet apps go live in Go-Jek’s first international launch (Vietnam). The Indonesian ride-hailing firm’s first operation outside its home country has officially launched today. Mobile apps for Go-Viet – the local brand that Go-Jek is operating in Ho Chi Minh City – are now available for download in Apple and Google app stores, allowing users to hail motorbikes for personal transport and express courier services.
In May, Go-Jek revealed its US$500 million plan to expand beyond Indonesia and launch “autonomous” ride-hailing units in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The following month it unveiled its localized Go-Viet and Get brands for Vietnam and Thailand, respectively. (e27)

Enterprise crowdfunder Validus passes S$100 million (US$73.4 million) disbursed capital mark (Singapore). The platform – which links accredited and institutional investors with startups and other small businesses seeking financing – is backed by Temasek affiliate Vertex Ventures and has partnered with Visa.
