Google took down over 154k pieces of content in India in the last 2 months
Google took down 154,745 pieces of content in India in May and June based on user complaints, according to the company’s latest transparency report.
India’s new IT rules require social media companies with more than 5 million users to publish a periodic compliance report, which are mandated to outline details about the complaints from users and the subsequent actions taken. Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have already begun publishing their transparency reports.
