Friends and tourists at Chennai and Hyderabad can now rejoice as Google India announced yesterday the additional of these two cities on Google India Transit. This addition will help misguided individuals in Chennai and Hyderabad to navigate their way through public transport by using Google Maps.
All users have to do is key in their current location and destination. As seen above, Google Maps will provide both the driving directions and public transportation options.
By clicking the public transport icon, users will be able to see more detailed directional instructions. The same Google Maps service is also available on mobile handsets.
P.S: Note that this service only appears when an India-based IP is detected. I’m in Indonesia right now and the service doesn’t seem to show up.
