Singapore smart home startup Habitap expands into Indonesia

Habitap, a Singapore-based smart home management system provider, announced its entry into Indonesia with the launch of its AI-backed smart home system at Savyavasa, a luxury residential development in the archipelago.

Indonesia marks Habitap’s second Asian market outside of its headquarters in Singapore, following its launch in the Philippines earlier this year, according to a statement.

With the launch, Habitap’s smart living platform will be integrated into Savyavasa’s compound, allowing each unit in the development to be equipped with the company’s smart assistant Handy. The feature enables Savyavasa’s users to invite guests, reserve facilities, operate appliances, and order daily needs in a single platform.

Residents of the luxury residential development will also be able to control and manage their home through Habitap’s mobile app or through messaging platforms such as WhatsApp.

“I believe this project will pave the way forward for Habitap in Indonesia and in the ASEAN region as we seek to meet the needs of technologically savvy homeowners contributing to the country’s real estate growth,” said Habitap CEO and founder Franklin Tang.

Habitap launched in 2016, claiming to be Asia’s first fully integrated smart living management system. In 2017, the firm developed Singapore’s first smart building management solution, marking its initial foray into the commercial space.

The company currently manages 12 buildings, including offices, business parks and integrated developments, and 13 residential projects with over 8,000 residential units.
