Get yourself a free copy of Pokemon X or Y

Nintendo is offering up one heck of a promotion for the month of March. If you buy a new 3DS or 2DS, plus one of the qualifying games, you will be rewarded with a promotional code for a free download of Pokemon X or Y.

Here’s how it works. First you need to buy a 3DS or 2DS. Next you need to register and link your new handheld with the North American Club Nintendo. You then need to buy one of the 6 qualifying games which include: Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Lego City Undercover, or Yoshi’s New Island and then register the game with Club Nintendo. Following the registration you will receive a download code which you can use to get a copy of either Pokemon X or Y.

The offer is only good through the month of March, so if you are looking to buy a 3DS now is the time. The deal is good only for North American accounts, but I’m sure most of you know your way around this. Also for those of you who have yet to register your 3DS with Club Nintendo, you should still be able to take advantage of this promotion. Registration does not require any receipt or date of purchase so you should be fine.
