SINGAPORE – 2 May 2024 – Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the GenAI Hackathon 2024 in collaboration with the Singapore FinTech Association, MongoDB, MISSION+, NVIDIA, and Tenity. This initiative aims to drive innovation and explore cutting-edge use cases of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for startups and developers.
The GenAI Hackathon 2024 is a unique opportunity for FinTech and non-FinTech startups, as well as individual participants, to showcase their GenAI solutions and push the boundaries of what’s possible. With a vision to encourage greater innovation within the GenAI space, the hackathon welcomes both model builders and applied GenAI users to participate.
GenAI has been gaining significant traction across various industries, with the finance sector being one of the early adopters. According to a recent report by Grand View Research, the global generative AI market in finance is projected to reach $22.6 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 27.9% from 2023 to 2030. This rapid growth is fueled by the increasing demand for intelligent automation, risk management, and personalized financial services.
Participants will have access to a series of customized and in-depth workshops hosted by AWS, NVIDIA, Tenity, and MongoDB, providing them with valuable insights, technical guidance, and industry best practices. These workshops, taking place from May 6th to May 24th 2024, will cover a wide range of topics, from model development and deployment to real-world applications of GenAI across diverse domains, including finance.
Offering a series of technical acceleration workshops, as part of a 2-month program, AWS will collaborate with NVIDIA through the NVIDIA Inception program to help bring up startups in Singapore and equip them with capabilities addressing the new set of challenges in the advent of the AI era. The workshops will empower them with the skill sets to customize, fine-tune, and performance-optimize Gen AI models, and build multimodal GenAI models to enhance their market competitiveness and uniqueness. The startups will be trained on how to use the NVIDIA AI Enterprise end-to-end software platform that includes NVIDIA NeMo for developing custom GenAI, NVIDIA NIM inference microservices for simplifying deployment of GenAI models, , NVIDIA Riva for speech and translation AI, and more — all accelerated on NVIDIA-powered Amazon EC2 instances.
NVIDIA Inception will also further support the startups beyond the 2-month program through a custom set of ongoing benefits, such as NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute course credits, preferred pricing on NVIDIA hardware and software, and technological assistance, which provides startups with the fundamental tools to help them grow.
The registration period for the GenAI Hackathon 2024 will be open from April 8th to May 3rd, 2024. All interested participants can sign up at www.genaihackathon2024.com. Participants are encouraged to come prepared with an idea or at least a minimum viable product (MVP) of what they are looking to build; it can be a new project or an existing project. All registered participants will receive an invitation to participate in the Demo Day on June 4th, 2024, one day before the highly anticipated Super AI Conference.
The Demo Day will take place at the AWS office in Singapore, where the top projects will be showcased, and the top 3 winners will have the chance to present their solutions to a panel of esteemed judges. This event will also provide a valuable networking opportunity, allowing GenAI enthusiasts from around the world to connect, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.
