Garena Premier League’s week two continues amidst technical difficulties

The second week of GPL competition got off to something of an inauspicious start, but the majority of the matches were able to push through the internet and technical difficulty problems plaguing the first day.

The first match of the night was supposed to be of Group A’s Bangkok Titans against the Imperium Pro Team. However, because of internet and server issues, the match was moved to a future undisclosed date.

The second match of the night was of Group A’s Azubu Taipei Snipers (TPS) currently with a group standing of 1-1 against the currently undefeated Saigon Jokers (SAJ) at 2-0. The match had a slow start where both teams were more focused on pushing the top and bottom lanes. It wasn’t until the game reached it’s seven-and-a-half minute mark when first blood was called by SAJ’s Junie, whose Lulu took down TPS’ Awei’s Leona.

Even with the first kill advantage from SAJ, TPS began slowly pulling away by maintaining a 3-lane pressure in mid game. It was 31 minutes into the game that TPS took the win as they were able to outmaneuver SAJ at almost every turn. As it stands both teams are now 2-1.

The third match of the night was Group B’s NeoLution Esports Full Louis (NFL) vs. Saigon Fantastic 5 (SF5). This match had a more upbeat pace as the champions were already at it as soon as creeps started spawning. The first blood was dealt four minutes into the game by NFL’s Sofm (Elise), who took down SF5 Gony’s Lee Sin.

NFL was able to control the kills for the most of the match but SF5’s aggressive bottom lane pushing gave them the advantage even if they were losing majority of the clashes. A well-timed ace made way for SF5 to finally take the win from NFL. SF5 was able to maintain their winning streak and has a current record of 3-0, with NFL now 0-1.

The fourth and final match of the day was Group B’s yoe FlashWolves (yoeFW) vs. Singapore Sentinels (SGS). Despite technical issues with the connection, the match went on and yoeFW got off to a quick start.

But by the midgame, SGS was dominating yoeFW mercilessly, and yoeFW had no answer. The match ended with SGS having a comfortable lead in Kills and Deaths, in total turrets destroyed, and overall gold farmed. SGS goes home with their first win, making them 1-1, while yoeFW gets a second defeat to make the team 1-2.
