Gamescom will play host to an East vs. West Guild Wars 2 showdown

The launch of Guild Wars 2 in China has turned it into yet another contender for the game’s PVP throne. Arenanet has announced the world’s first Guild Wars 2 International All-Star Tournament, involving players from North America, Europe, and China. It will be held at Gamescom this year.

There will be daily matches on the show floor at the Twitch booth in Gamescom, which will run from August 14 to 17 in Cologne, Germany.

North American and European players have to be voted in via the tournament site, while competitors from China will be chosen from Chinese Guild Wars 2 publisher Kongzhong’s weekly tournament series. Arenanet explains that since the competitive scene in China is still “relatively new”, the Chinese all-star Guild Wars 2 team will be selected rather than voted upon.
