Singapore’s Tribe Accelerator partners with BMW, Intel

Blockchain-focused Tribe Accelerator unveiled a trio of big-name strategic partnerships today, adding BMW, Intel, and Nielsen to its roster of corporate collaborators.

BMW will share insights on innovation and the mobility industry with participating startups through a series of “masterclasses” and group mentoring sessions.

Chipmaker Intel will help startups to use its own blockchain technologies, in addition to providing business and technical mentorship.

Nielsen is setting up a sandbox that will allow Tribe participants to “gain firsthand appreciation of inherent business risks, understand regulatory environments in which their prospective clients operate, and fine-tune their business models,” the accelerator said in a statement.

Backed by the Singapore government and operated by local VC firm Trive Ventures, Tribe is a product-centric program for blockchain startups that aims to connect its participants with corporate partners.

It’s supported by Enterprise Singapore, the government agency responsible for developing the country’s startup ecosystem, as well as accountancy giant PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Singapore Digital Hub and South Korean blockchain network Icon Foundation.

The accelerator will begin accepting applications for its second cohort next month.
