Called the Digital Platforms Industry Association (DPIA), the entity will work with stakeholders in the Singapore government to strengthen frameworks and develop policies and guidelines to improve the well-being of delivery partners and merchants.
The association will also offer opportunities for upskilling in addition to bolstering health and safety standards for delivery partners and merchants.
Moving forward, the DPIA intends to launch an industry code of conduct for its members, covering best practices and principles in health and safety as well as merchant development.
The entity will also work to identify areas of improvement and work with the government and industry stakeholders to create solutions.
The three companies also said that the food delivery industry is an essential service, adding that food delivery platforms bring convenience to their users. “For platform companies, the well-being of our delivery partners and merchants across the marketplace is paramount,” they shared in a joint statement.
