The program will mentor early-stage startups to grow and scale through a curriculum designed by Bain & Company. Over the course of 16 weeks, leaders from Flipkart will connect with the selected startups to tutor them on business, tech, product, and finance.
There will be a demo day at the end of the program, allowing the startups to pitch to industry leaders and potential investors. The participants will receive equity investments of up to US$500,000 from Flipkart.
The startups selected for the program are metaverse platform Dopplr, insurtech firm Livwell, logistics solutions provider LogisticsNow, automated catalog deeptech NeuroPixel.AI, robotics fulfillment company Rightbot Technologies, and seller enablement startup SellerApp.
This marks Flipkart Leap Ahead’s second season, with its first cohort of eight startups graduating last July.
Flipkart was founded by brothers Binny and Sachin Bansal in 2007 and acquired by US-based retail giant Walmart for US$16 billion in 2018. Flipkart plans to list in the US by 2023, having internally raised its IPO valuation target to between US$60 billion and US$70 billion.
