EVO 2014: Asia still best at what it does

2014’s Evolution Championship Series (EVO) has drawn to a close, and not without surprises. Eight games were played over the three days EVO was hosted at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, USA, and players both old and new have walked away triumphant.

Ultra Street Fighter IV in particular, in its first year at EVO, saw a new and revitalized lineup of challengers as opposed to the usual faces that grace its top eight each year.

2. Bonchan (Japan)
3. RZR|Fuudo (Japan)
4. RG|Snake Eyez (USA)

AVM|Gamerbee (Taiwan) finished in ninth place alongside RZR|Itabashi Zangief (Japan). Eita (Japan) and Kazunoko (Japan) shared 13th place with Taiga (Japan). Haitani (Japan) and RZR|Xian (Singapore) were in 17th place while Infiltration (Korea) was in 25th place. Daigo “The Beast” Umehara of Japan was eliminated early and finished in 48th place.
