In brief: Salesforce Ventures introduces $50m Australia-focused fund

Salesforce Ventures – the corporate investment arm of customer relationship management platform Salesforce – has launched the Australia Trailblazer Fund, a new US$50 million fund to empower Australian startups in the Salesforce ecosystem.

A Startup Muster report suggested that nearly half of Australian startups are actively trying to raise funds.

“If these startups can secure financing and scale, 25 percent of the Australian economy is likely to be directly impacted by software by 2025, which equates to A$524 billion (US$370 billion) of GDP,” added StartupAUS.

With this new fund, Salesforce Ventures wants to “invest in local innovation” and to inspire homegrown entrepreneurs “to create next-generation technology that drives customer success across industries.”

Since 2012, Salesforce Ventures has been investing in startups Down Under, such as Arxxus, Bugcrowd, Practifi, Socialsuite, and Sqware Peg.

Salesforce Ventures announced its US$100 million Trailblazer Fund for Japan in December 2018.
