Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will have you playing with dolls in its newest event

The Japanese festival Hina Matsuri is just around the corner and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has just the event to help you celebrate.

Hina Matsuri is a festival where Japanese families with young girls display a five to seven tiered alter that holds elaborately decorated dolls. The festival, although not a national holiday, is a big deal in Japan and is meant to be a time to pray for the growth and fortune of the young ladies of the nation. It is not unusual for families to spend thousands of dollars on these dolls in hopes to bring future fortune to their daughters.

Square Enix’s new event, Little Ladies Day, will allow you to take part in the festivities without the thousands of dollars worth of commitment. From today, February 28, through March 13, you will be able to pick up Hina Matsuri related rewards including; a Wind-up Edvya minion, peach blossom earrings, peach confetti, and a sweet rice cake as rewards during this Little Ladies Day event. There will even be a doll crafting contest that will include some nifty prizes.
