Dota 2 vs. League of Legends war reignited amongst Chinese netizens after TI4
Even though League of Legends is the more popular game in China, Dota 2 is clearly paying off more for the country’s top professional players.
After defeating fellow Chinese team Vici Gaming in the grand finals of The International 2014 (TI4), Team Newbee will be taking home a record-breaking $5,028,308 reward, the most won by any eSports team in history.

That also means the Chinese teams that participated in TI4 will be receiving approximately 77.75 percent ($8,498,934.138) of the total $10,931,105 TI4 prize pool. And of course, how could Chinese Dota 2 fans not proudly point out that fact and poke fun at their championship-less League of Legends counterparts?
These are comments from Chinese netizens on Dota 2 vs. LOL after Newbee’s TI4 victory, found from media websites like 17173, Yxdown, Duowan, and Weibo (Chinese Twitter):

0-3, 0-3. Loudly tell me what game this is? (Referring to Chinese League of Legends teams losing 0-3 to Korean teams)
So Tencent (the publisher of LOL in China) really is ignoring TI4. Everywhere is filled with Dota 2 news, but Tencent hasn’t even let out a fart. I’m looking forward to seeing when that death-seeking company will go bankrupt.
League of Legends I ask you, are you satisfied?!
Professional Dota 2 players spend over 10 hours of day training and researching their opponents, while LOL players/teams are busy with internal strife and fighting over fans. How can these trash-filled teams like that ever compete with Korea?
Two similar games, but while Chinese LOL teams are sucking every year, the Dota 2 teams are winning championships every year. It can only be because China’s LOL players are bad.
