Vici Gaming on a roll, joins LGD.cn to represent the Eastern Division of the HyperX Dota 2 League Season 4
The second team to join LGD.cn in the live finals of the HyperX Dota 2 League Season 4 (D2L S4) has been determined. After a convincing 3-1 win against Invictus Gaming (iG), Vici Gaming (VG) successfully punched its ticket to Las Vegas. The live finals will be held during the International Consumer Electronics Show at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on January 7-10, 2014.
The reformed VG has been showing great improvement, becoming a force to reckon with in the Chinese scene. In fact, they even beat LGD.cn 2-0 in the recently-concluded Sina Cup Season 2.
Vici Gaming will also be heading to Tychy, Poland to represent China in the Raid Call EMS One tournament where they will be the only Eastern team to go against Western powerhouse teams such as Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) and Team Alliance. This is after Team DK was unfortunately unable to secure visas for its players to attend EMS One.
The number of tournaments that the Chinese teams are participating in right now is in great contrast to last year, when the Chinese teams had few tournaments to participate in. The lack of matches became one of the reasons for China’s performance in The International 2013. In addition to this year’s increase in tournaments, the fact that there are at least two teams so far participating in Western tournaments should be good experience for Chinese teams since they haven’t been playing together long since the great Chinese reshuffle in the wake of The International 2013.
