Docomo's LTE-Advanced demo
Japanese mobile provider NTT Docomo was in attendance at Wireless Expo 2011 presenting its LTE-Advanced technology, which (as you might guess) is an advanced version of LTE.
According to Docomo, this system enhances performance a peak data rate of more than one gigabit per second using a bandwidth of 100 MHz. At Wireless Expo, Docomo exhibited LTE-Advanced data transmission with a base station and mobile station on site to power a 3D video filming demonstration.
While the LTE-Advanced system was the featured attraction, this 3D filming demo was also impressive as it implemented twin camera that each shoot 360 degrees, as well as on a vertical axis. The intention here was ostensibly to simulate human vision. The panoramic images were transferred wirelessly in real time over LTE-Advanced, and shown to visitors who could view wearing 3D glasses.
