Hello readers,
I was chatting with a founder-friend over drinks recently when he asked me, “What innovations in the region are interesting to you?”
His question left me stumped. Everything seems equally interesting to me because, well, what kind of innovation isn’t?
But after thinking about it more, I realized that any startup that deals with content is intriguing to me because I’m a writer. This space is incredibly saturated, so anyone who thinks they have what it takes to nab a piece of the content pie immediately catches my eye.
And what do you know, it seems that the week’s top fundraisers – livestreaming platform Huya.com and mobile news aggregator Yidian Zixun – both make content their business in one way or another.
You can find other important investment deals that happened in the last few days in our weekly funding news wrap-up.

Let’s dive into the biggest deals and M&As that recently took place.
